Clarence Loebel
1st Lt. Clarence J Loebel was assigned to the 459th BG 757th Squadron.
Military Occupational Specialty (MOS): Navigator.
1st Lt Clarence J. Loebel died 5-10-2013 peacefully in his sleep at home. He was 89. He flew 35 Missions as a Lead Navigator with Ted Norman and Mel Jaloff in the 459th. He earned the DFC also. Please salute him one more time.

Several other 459 BG planes were forced to bomb alternate targets that day such as Bruck, Austria and the Plume Shipyard, Italy( now part of the old Yugoslavia ). No aircraft were lost that day on this mission.

Lt Clarence Noebel`s Combat Mission Record shows he flew 31 missions with the first mission being 169 on 12-25-44 and the last 4-26-45, 242, the last mission the 459 BG flew in WW II.
