Raymond Lindstrand
S/Sgt. Raymond Lindstrand Jr was assigned to the 459th BG 757th Squadron.
After the War, Raymond Lindstrand went to the University of Chicago on the GI Bill. He earned a Masters Degree, and then worked on a Doctorate at Michigan State University. He then taught sociology and other related subjects at college in Illinois. He retired to a small hobby farm in Michigan in the 1980s, where he had an extensive garden and several dogs and cats. He had two sons, John and Mark, two stepsons, Gary and Edwin, and a daughter, Laura. His wife June still lives on the farm in Michigan. Raymond passed away on January 10, 1999 at home. Raymond was extremely smart, and very well read. He loved classical music. He was very generous, and very kind to animals, adopting homeless pets. He had a wonderful droll sense of humor
