Cpl Milton G Handelsman was assigned to the 459th BG 756th Squadron.
Military Occupational Specialty (MOS): Gunner.

Gene Handyman passed away on 02/24/2016, he was 92 years old. Gene was with the 459th at Giulia Field when he went on his last mission to Munich on June 13, 1944. He was a waist gunner and camera operator and was blown from the plane when it collided with another plane above them as they attempted to leave the formation as they were quite shot up. He was one of three survivors of his plane. He spent time as a POW at Stalag VII A and later at Stalag Luft IV and was later shipped to Stalag Luft at Barth where Col Zempke was the ranking officer. Gene was liberated by the advancing Russian Army on May 8 1945.
