Pete Chemeras
Master Sgt Pete Chemeras was assigned to the 459th BG 756th Squadron.

T/Sgt Pete Chemeras served with distinction in the 756 Bomb Squadron Engineering Section.See later photo for his Meadals. Pete is somewhere in this photo as we do not know much about his history. The material submitted here is data from Mike Furline who relates that his father-in-law purchased some airplane books outside Pittsburg, PA and Ptee`s data was in these books. The data shows that Pete was a T/Sgt and later a Master/Sgt in the 756 BS Engineering Section. This Photo shows a group of 756 BS enlisted men in front of a B-24 Engine on a test stand at the 756 BS Engine Change Shop Sign in 1945. Pete is somewhere in this picture.

This postal label is the only way that we are sure Pete Chemeras was in the 756 BS and was a T/Sgt with no certain date but definitely 1944-1945.

This unusual 15th Air Force Certificate Of Merit for now Master Sgt Pete Chemeras was issued to Ptee toward the end of the European War as the signatures on the certificate are those of the Commanding Officer of the 459th B G and the CO of the 304th Bomb Wing who replaced Col Mooney in the 459th and the Brig. Gereral of the 304th B W. Thus the Date should be late April 1945 or May of 1945. Notice that Pete has also received the Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medals.
