Graz, Austria M/Y 12/11/1944
Mission # 162
This mission attacked the Railroad Marshalling Yard at the important Austrian city of Graz on the River Mur, a key transportation hub for the movement of German Military Supplies to Germany`s Russian and Italian war fronts.
Mission No. 162 was part of a continuous campaign to cripple Germany`s Transportation system and to prevent military supplies from reaching Germany`s far flung War Fronts in Russia and Italy. By destroying the railroad rolling stock, rail lines and repair facilities at these important key transportation hubs, flow of military supplies could be slowed and equipment destroyed.
